Fisheries Volunteers in Zaire/Congo in 1980 upon arriving in country, took a quick tour of internal regions of the country in order to visit other Volunteers, farmers and fish ponds. The children in the villages always were smiling.
Taken in 1988 as we waited on the pond bank for the first harvest of fish for this group of farmers. They showed me how to make hats out of big forest leaves for protection from the hot equatorial sun.
Kinshasa, Zaire/Congo at Peace Corps headquarters. We were provided with new Yamaha 125 motorcycles, as fisheries Volunteers and we did cover a large area which required a bike. Later, I broke my ankle.
